COURT SECURITY
The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office – Court Security Division takes applications on an on-going basis. The Court Security division also does lateral transfers from other jails and police departments. In both cases an application needs to be submitted for consideration.
Testing for Court Security Officer with no prior certified police officer or correctional officer experience consists of the following:
- Physical Agility Test
- Interview
- Polygraph
- Test Psychological Examination/Test
Current or retired certified police officers and correctional officers may be required to complete the following:
- Interview
- Polygraph Test
- Psychological Examination/Test
APPLICATIONS:
Applications must have all pages completed and include a clear copy of the applicant’s valid driver’s license.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hiring.

TESTING SCHEDULE
- Testing is done on an as needed basis.
- Applications will be kept on file for two years.
